A former Citigroup executive has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting women, secretly recording the abuse, and receiving child sexual abuse material. Edward Gene Smith was sentenced on July 28 after admitting to multiple federal offences, including luring a woman to New York before drugging and assaulting her, in a case prosecutors described as involving calculated and predatory criminal conduct.
