A man convicted of child sexual abuse involving his neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter has been sentenced to 13 years in prison and ordered to pay N250,000 in compensation to the affected child in Niger State. The man, identified as Aliyu Bala, was convicted at a magistrate’s court in Minna. Following the judgment, authorities also publicly flogged him with 20 strokes at the Hakimi Palace in Bosso, in the presence of community members.
