February 23 2024- The war in Sudan is jeopardizing the future of its 24 million youngest citizens, warns the Representative of UNICEF in the country. Sudan is facing a humanitarian catastrophe, particularly affecting children, with nearly 10 months of clashes between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces. This has led to the world’s largest child displacement crisis, with over 3.5 million children fleeing their homes. More than 7.4 million children lack access to safe drinking water, risking waterborne diseases, and almost two million urgently need lifesaving vaccines.
