A 12-year-old Maryland boy sprang into action after waking to an alleged attack on his mother, intervening as her boyfriend was reportedly choking her. The boy, Xavier Leathers, said he feared his mother might not survive and stepped in to defend her during the early-morning incident in Temple Hills.
