A 13-year-old secondary school student was swept away by fast-moving floodwater in Abuja on Wednesday while travelling to school with his father. Alhassan Jamil, a student of Ihyau El-Burhan Academy in Gwagwalada Area Council, fell into the flood after his father stopped his motorcycle at a flooded culvert, with the rushing water carrying him away despite his father’s attempt to save him.
