Tension erupted at King’s College, Lagos, on Tuesday as protesting staff resisted efforts by security personnel to open the school gates for members of the Old Boys’ Association, who had planned to hold a press conference inside the school. Unable to enter, the association’s president, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, and other former students addressed journalists outside the main gate, insisting that the Federal Government had handed the college’s management to the association under a public-private partnership arrangement.
