Chris Miller, principal of Ontario Middle School, faced challenges with manual attendance tracking systems that made it difficult to identify and address concerning levels of student absences promptly. Recognizing the inefficiency of the existing process, Miller aimed to improve communication and early intervention to prevent students from becoming chronically absent, defined as missing 10% of the school year. Seeking a more effective approach, Miller sought to streamline attendance tracking and enhance communication with families to address attendance issues proactively.
