All Howard County public schools will open two hours late on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to forecasted low temperatures and the potential for overnight refreezing. As a result, all morning sessions of half-day Pre-K and RECC are canceled.
High schools, which were originally scheduled for an early dismissal, will now follow the two-hour delayed schedule and dismiss at the standard time of 2:35 p.m. Additionally, there will be no ARL classes for high school students.
School buses will pick students up two hours later than their normal times. Morning childcare programs held in HCPSS schools, sponsored by the Columbia Association and the Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks, will also be delayed by two hours. HCPSS will reevaluate conditions by 7:30 a.m.
