Police Strengthen JAMB Exam Security to Boost Child Protection and Candidate Safety Nationwide

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified JAMB exam security Nigeria arrangements with the deployment of rapid response teams across examination centres nationwide to ensure the safety and protection of candidates sitting the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

Authorities confirmed that the enhanced JAMB exam security Nigeria measures include both overt and covert deployments, routine patrols, perimeter monitoring, and strategic positioning of response units to prevent any form of disruption or threat during the examination period.

From a child protection and safeguarding perspective, the initiative is aimed at ensuring a safe, stable, and stress-free environment for young candidates, many of whom are minors or first-time examination participants. The police emphasized that safeguarding examination centres is critical to protecting children’s educational rights and reducing exposure to fear, misinformation, or potential harm.

The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, stated that recent rumours suggesting threats to candidates’ safety were unfounded. He noted that the police are not acting on speculation but are prioritizing verified intelligence to strengthen JAMB exam security Nigeria nationwide.

Security agencies are also collaborating with sister organisations to ensure coordinated monitoring and rapid response capabilities across all centres. Officials warned that any individual or group attempting to disrupt the examination process will be swiftly identified and prosecuted.

As part of safeguarding efforts, candidates have been encouraged to arrive early, comply with examination guidelines, and report any suspicious activity to on-site security personnel. Parents and guardians are also advised to support children by ensuring they are well prepared and informed ahead of the examination.

Authorities further cautioned the public against spreading unverified information on social media, stressing the importance of relying only on official updates from the police and JAMB.

The initiative reinforces national commitment to child safeguarding in education, ensuring that examination environments remain secure, orderly, and free from fear or disruption.
