No Power: WAEC Exam Held in the Dark in Delta State

Teenagers reportedly from Unity Model School in Asaba, Delta State, were allegedly forced to write one of their WAEC exams under troubling conditions, late in the evening and by torchlight.

A viral video shows students seated in a dimly lit classroom, struggling to complete their papers in near darkness. The unidentified woman who filmed the scene expressed outrage, revealing that the exam was scheduled for 2 PM but the materials didn’t arrive until 6 PM.

With no power supply in the school, officials resorted to using torchlights to illuminate the room as students wrote the exam in poor visibility.

“It’s not OK,” the woman is heard saying in the video. “Even during my time, when lanterns were common, we were never subjected to this.”
