A 16-year-old boy from Columbia, South Carolina, was arrested in Atlanta for fatally shooting two young men, Dominic Goodwin and Xavier J. Hopkins, both aged 22. The incident occurred near Hopkins’ home on July 9. After fleeing to Atlanta, the suspect was apprehended by the South Fulton Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that multiple guns were found with the suspect, one of which has been identified as a murder weapon. The sheriff noted the tragedy of youth making grave decisions, and indicated that the shooting involved more than 20 rounds, suggesting the suspect had accomplices. Tiffany Barber, Goodwin’s mother, expressed deep sorrow over losing her son and his childhood friend.
