In Elkhart County, Indiana, a 2-year-old boy was found dead following an 18-hour standoff that ended with the arrest of 37-year-old Ryan Snyder. Authorities were called to check on Snyder and his two children in Baugo Township, where he barricaded himself in the home and allegedly fired shots at police. After unsuccessful negotiations, Indiana State Police SWAT entered the home and apprehended Snyder. The cause of the boy’s death is under investigation. His 4-year-old sister, also in the home, was unharmed. Charges against Snyder are pending from the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
