A graduating senior from Crawford Independent School District in Central Texas has achieved a milestone by becoming the first student in the district’s history to receive an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Huston Powers, 17, expressed his deep honour in being chosen to serve his country and represent Central Texas.
Powers feels privileged to follow in the footsteps of his heroes and pursue an exceptional education alongside a military career. The community celebrated Powers’ achievement during an assembly attended by his family. He is set to report to West Point on July 1, marking a significant milestone for both him and Crawford ISD.
