State leaders and advocates are set to convene at the Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting, preceded by a planned rally. Freedom Oklahoma is organizing the rally on the front lawn at noon on Thursday in support of Trans Week of Advocacy and Action. The event follows the tragic death of nonbinary Owasso High School student Nex Benedict, whose passing was ruled a suicide. Benedict’s death gained national attention following a physical altercation at Owasso High School, which occurred a day before their passing.
