The Anoka-Hennepin School Board approved $4.5 million for a new literacy instruction plan for elementary students to boost reading levels. The new literacy program is meant to align with the state’s new READ Act to get more children at or above reading level. The plan involves three different curriculum programs for elementary schools in the district: CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) for all grades, Bridge2Read for Kindergarten to grade three and Functional Morphology for grades four and five, according to the district.
