January 12 2024- The court filing alleges that Brian Laundrie, a person of interest in the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito, informed his parents nearly two weeks before Petito was reported missing that she was “gone” and that he needed a lawyer. The court document claims that Laundrie’s parents, along with their attorney Steven Bertolino, were aware of Petito’s death but continued to share messages of hope regarding her disappearance. Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie were on a cross-country road trip in the summer of 2021 when Petito went missing, drawing international attention to the case. Laundrie, named a person of interest, later disappeared and was found dead in Florida.
