Gov. Josh Shapiro Awarded $1.5 Million to Grow Pennsylvania’s Special ed Workforce, but Philly’s Public Schools didn’t Apply

A $1.5 million state grant in Pennsylvania aimed at expanding the special education workforce was not pursued by the Philadelphia school district, despite a severe shortage of special education teachers. The Developing Future Special Educators Grant offers up to $20,000 to develop experiential learning programs for students interested in special education.
