A primary school teacher in Kogi State has died after she was allegedly assaulted for disciplining a pupil, raising fresh concerns about safety in school environments and child protection practices. The teacher, Maryam Usman, worked at Brains Minds Nursery and Primary School in Ugbamaka, Olamaboro Local Government Area. She reportedly died on June 25, 2026, days after the incident.
