As the JCPS bus driver shortage continues, one mom at the center of a lawsuit filed against the district in 2024 says she’s been forced to transfer her son to another school after losing transportation.
Taryn Bell was one of the plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit filed against JCPS over the decision to cut bussing to magnet and traditional schools.
“Parents were saying you’re not the only one that’s going to be affected and I said I’m going to be the one that’s going to stand up and do something then,” Bell said. “I don’t want this village that we have to be torn apart just because JCPS cut transportation.”
