Montgomery County Inspector General saw Surge in Complaints About School System

< 1 min read

In the past year, Montgomery County’s inspector general received a notable increase in complaints regarding Maryland’s largest school system. From July 1, 2023, to June 30 of the current year, the office received 185 complaints, a significant rise from 22 complaints the previous year. The nature of these complaints varies, but the surge reflects heightened scrutiny over the school system’s handling of conduct reports. The inspector general’s office has released reports addressing issues such as fund usage, misconduct allegations, and the handling of employee complaints within the school system.
