The research suggests that loneliness may play a role in mediating the relationship between perceived phubbing, life satisfaction, and psychological distress. The study, published in BMC Psychology, highlights the challenges introduced by the widespread use of mobile devices, with the transformation in communication patterns leading to both benefits and new challenges, including the phenomenon of phubbing.
