Queensland parents who drive their children to and from school could receive hundreds of dollars a year from the government.
The School Transport Assistance Scheme provides an allowance to families who use their private vehicles to take their children to school or their local bus or train stop.
Eligibility for the allowance is distance-based, meaning the nearest state primary school has to be more than 3.2km away, or the nearest state secondary school has to be more than 4.8km away for it to be claimed.
