Rivers School Pleads Reopening After Toddler’s Death Sparks Safety Probe and Cover-Up Allegations

The management of Wisdom Gate International School in Eligbolo, Rivers State, has appealed to the government to lift the suspension placed on its operations following the death of a two-year-old pupil, Winnie Akakue, whose fatal injuries were reportedly caused by a collapsing bookshelf in a classroom. The request comes amid ongoing grief, public concern, and heightened scrutiny over child safety standards in early childhood education settings.
