Study Links Strong Parent-Child Communication to Better Emotional Stability and Soft Skills in Teens

Better parent-child communication has been associated with stronger non-cognitive abilities in adolescents, according to an analysis of the China Education Panel Survey (2014–2015), which found that such communication not only has a direct positive effect on teens’ emotional stability and soft skills but also works indirectly by enhancing social support and encouraging physical activity, both of which contribute to improved developmental outcomes.
