The Havre School Board listens to a review of the four-day week.

< 1 min read

At the recent meeting of the Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees, Erika Brekhus, a longstanding teacher at Havre High School, was appointed as the principal of Lincoln-McKinley Primary School for the upcoming academic year. This decision was met with unanimous approval from the board members, except for Trustee Kevin Johnson, who abstained due to a conflict of interest. The meeting also featured discussions on the implementation of the school’s new hybrid four-day week model, where representatives from each school building shared their experiences and opinions. Despite initial debates, the new schedule has garnered positive feedback from teachers, although challenges such as low attendance on Support Fridays were highlighted. Suggestions for improvement included mandatory attendance for at-risk students and addressing logistical issues such as bus schedules.
