Two teenage boys found guilty of child sexual abuse against two teenage girls in Hampshire have had their original non-custodial sentences overturned by the Court of Appeal and were each handed four years’ detention. Judges ruled that the initial Youth Rehabilitation Orders were “unduly lenient” and failed to reflect the seriousness of the offences, following a referral by the Attorney General and strong objections from the victims’ families.
