Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, a 48-year-old Nigerian man, is wanted by U.S. authorities for first-degree murder and child abuse related to the death of his 3-month-old son in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2017. The infant, found in critical condition with multiple injuries, died six months later. Olawusi was initially arrested and charged with child abuse in April 2017 but was released and fled the country. Authorities believe he escaped to Nigeria after flying out of the U.S. in June 2017. A $25,000 reward is offered for information leading to his capture, and he has been placed on the U.S. Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted list. Olawusi is considered a danger to children, and anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
