February 23 2024- Gamuchirai Muzvondiwa, the child President of the Senate in Zimbabwe, expressed concern about the inadequate protection of children’s rights, particularly addressing the issue of teenage pregnancy. Speaking at the “A Call to Action” meeting led by UNFPA, Muzvondiwa emphasized the importance of addressing adolescent pregnancies in Zimbabwe. The concern was highlighted by a recent tragic case where a 14-year-old girl, Yeukai, died shortly after giving birth through a C-section.
