The Lynchburg School Board is contemplating the implementation of a comprehensive ban on cell phones throughout the school day.

< 1 min read

Lynchburg City Schools are considering a new cell phone policy for students, which would enforce a ban on cell phone use throughout the entire school day, including hall time and lunch. School Board Vice Chair Martin Day mentioned that the potential policy change stemmed from survey results, with many teachers citing cell phones as disruptive in classrooms and contributing to hallway conflicts. Under the proposed policy, students would be allowed to keep their phones as long as they are turned off and out of sight. The policy could undergo final approval by the full board in May or June.
