A school bus carrying eighth graders from Josiah Quincy School in Boston caught fire on Interstate 93 in Dorchester around 2:45 p.m. All students and teachers safely evacuated before the bus became fully engulfed. They walked to safety and were later returned to school. Four individuals, including students, were hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The bus, not part of the regular school fleet but hired from a third party, caused traffic disruptions until it was towed around 4 p.m., though backups persisted past Braintree until 6 p.m.
