Sixteen-year-old Quincy Wilson narrowly missed securing a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team after finishing sixth in the men’s 400-meter final with a time of 44.94 seconds. Despite this, there remains a possibility that he could be invited to join Team USA for the 4×400-meter relay event in Paris this summer. Wilson achieved the fastest 400-meter time ever recorded by someone under 18 during the trials, and his performance has impressed U.S. Track & Field officials who will make their decision after the Trials conclude. If selected, Wilson would be the youngest American male Olympic runner since 1972.
