Tennessee Public School Closes Library in Response to Book Banning Law

< 1 min read

Green Hill High School in Wilson County, Tennessee, has closed its library to review its collection for compliance with a new law, H.B. 843, which requires schools to evaluate and list library materials for age-appropriateness, particularly focusing on content related to nudity, sexual conduct, violence, and sadomasochism. This law affects many books, including classics and works by and about people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals.
