Eid-e-Milad is being celebrated across many states in India, with public holidays declared, causing closures of private and government banks, schools, and colleges. However, some state banks and government institutions will remain open. In Maharashtra, the government extended the Eid-e-Milad holiday from September 16 to September 18 due to Ganesh immersion, leading the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to cancel the earlier holiday announcement. Consequently, all banks in Maharashtra will be closed on September 18, along with banks in Sikkim for Pang-Lahabsol. The RBI also noted that there would be no transactions in government securities or foreign exchange markets on that day.
