The Pune Rural police on Thursday arrested a 54-year-old man who allegedly murdered two minor sisters, aged eight and nine years, after sexually assaulting them at a town in Pune district, officials said.
A preliminary probe has revealed that the accused who works as a cook at a local hotel is also a neighbour of the victims and was known to their family, said an officer.
