A lawsuit filed against the Demarest Board of Education says LGBTQ+ students faced frequent bullying and district staff members did not intervene.
A transgender student and her family filed the suit against the school board in state Superior Court, saying the district failed to protect her from constant harassment from fellow students over several years.
Superintendent Michael Fox did not immediately return a call and email for comment.
