School district moves to 4-day week as incentive to retain teachers

A public school district in Texas is moving to a four-day school week as an incentive for its educators.

Whitney Independent School District, about an hour’s drive southwest of Dallas, is officially moving to a four-day school week for the 2025-2026 school year.

The decision comes after several weeks of discussion with its board of trustees.

The board approved the plan at a meeting on Monday.
