Parents in Gwinnett County Public Schools say that safety should be the top priority for whoever becomes the next superintendent of Georgia’s largest school district. Roughly 50 parents gathered Tuesday night at Shiloh High School in Snellville for a public input meeting hosted by the school district. It’s one of several events giving community members a chance to weigh in on the search for new leadership. “Safety has to be first and foremost,” said Tamara Scott, a parent in the district. “We’ve seen not just stabbings at schools but, unfortunately, firearms brought to campuses. This is not something that is new.”
