February 9 2024- Bailley Leibert, a 15-year-old freshman, is the only member of the class of 2027 at Loup County High School in Taylor, Nebraska. The school, located in one of the smallest districts in Nebraska with just 89 students, has faced closure threats twice but remains a vital part of the community. Despite the challenges and a declining population in the county, the school serves as a unifying force during events like Friday night football games and the annual county fair. Despite having only one freshman, the school is experiencing growth, highlighting its importance to the local community.
