Forty-eight students have advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the 2025 Cowbellpedia Mathematics Quiz Competition, themed ‘Mega Minds’, after weeks of high-pressure academic challenges that showcased brilliance, grit, and dramatic turnarounds.

In a statement released on Monday, the organisers described this year’s competition as a thrilling mix of genius, emotional intensity, and fierce determination. Now entering its most competitive phase yet, the 48 quarterfinalists, 24 from each of the Junior and Senior categories, are preparing to battle it out in what promises to be an electrifying series of contests.

This year’s edition has undergone a noticeable transformation, with several additions aimed at enhancing the contestants’ experience. These include the Dream Board, a Wall of Fame, a Practice Pod for last-minute revisions, relaxing lounges, and the Cowbell Café, a snack and rest area designed to help participants unwind between rounds. Despite these new features, the heart of the show remains focused on academic excellence and mental agility.

The competition has maintained its rigorous standards with segments like Fastest Fingers, 60 Seconds of Fame, and Questions from the Cowbellpedia Bank, all designed to test students’ speed, intelligence, and composure under pressure. According to the organisers, the episodes so far have delivered high-stakes moments, including record-breaking scores and unexpected tiebreakers.

One memorable highlight was the outstanding performance of Onyema Alexis and Adoga Agbo David, who wowed viewers during the 60 Seconds of Fame segment. Another standout moment came during a tense tie-breaker between Chidinma and Oyekale Obaloluwa, which kept the audience on edge. In yet another episode, a contestant’s emotional comeback after a shaky start moved both viewers and fellow participants to a standing ovation.

Following an intensive three-stage qualification process, the quarterfinalists in the Junior category are Ayanfeoluwa, Sochima, Ufondu, Valentine, Odighienaan, Oluwaseyi, David, Jeremiah, KingDavid, Salvin, Hallel, Peace, Bryan, Blessed, Samuel, Joshua, Oladayo, Enike, Obaloluwa, Inioluwa, Gbolahan, Tochukwu, Alexis, and Arthur.

In the Senior category, those who made it through are Elizabeth, Ireoluwa, Isreal, Jessica, Kamsi, Modebare, Mufeed, Ofumfeke, Osamudiamen, Chinemerem, Daramola, Derek, Oluwadamilare, Prince, Sinmi, Umar, Lyon, Adoga, Kenechukwu, Makinde, Fopefoluwa, Mofetoluwa, Olumide, and Ololade.

Reflecting on the impact of the competition, Donatus Ukpai, Category Manager, Dairy, Promasidor Nigeria, said Cowbellpedia goes beyond showcasing brilliance; it’s about unlocking potential and investing in the future of the country. Media and Equity Manager Olawande Meyungbo echoed that sentiment, noting that the journey is just beginning for these young minds, and their performance so far has been nothing short of inspiring.

Alongside national recognition and academic prestige, Cowbellpedia 2025 offers transformational rewards. The prize pool this year exceeds ₦100 million, with ₦5 million awarded to each category winner, in addition to high-end gadgets and an all-expense-paid educational trip to Kenya.
