Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Help to Find Missing 16-Year-Old
The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday, as concerns grow over her safety and wellbeing.
Jayonna Williams was last seen at about 7:30 a.m. on August 1, 2026, in the 5700 block of Baltimore Avenue, according to the department’s Southwest Detective Division.
Police said investigators believe she may currently be in the area of the 1800 block of North Ridge Avenue.
The 16-year-old is described by police as a Black girl, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She was reportedly last seen wearing a crop top and sweatpants.
From a child protection perspective, missing children can face heightened risks, including exploitation, violence and other forms of harm. Timely reporting and coordinated community action can therefore be critical to helping a missing child return safely.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Williams or knows anything about her whereabouts to contact the Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183 or 215-686-3184.
Anyone who believes they may have immediate information about her location can also contact 911.
The police appeal comes as investigators work to establish Williams’ whereabouts and ensure her safe return.
Members of the public are encouraged to share credible information directly with authorities rather than relying on speculation or unverified reports, particularly when the safety of a child may be at risk.
