In Tungar Giwa village, nestled in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, police have arrested eleven men for impregnating a 13-year-old girl described as mentally unstable.

The affected child, left unprotected and vulnerable, was lured with meager sums of money, ranging between N200 and N500, and subjected to multiple acts of sexual violence.

On July 8, 2025, the girl gave birth to a baby boy, an outcome of sustained exploitation that shocked the community.

Police spokesperson Nafiu Abubakar confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects confessed after being apprehended by officers from Shanga Division, following credible intelligence.

Two suspects remain at large, with the Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, directing the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure full justice is served.

This incident is a breach of the child’s right to sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.
