A civil rights group, the Assembly of Indigenous Youths of Abuja, has filed a lawsuit against the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the six area councils of the FCT, accusing them of violating the fundamental rights of primary school pupils and healthcare users in the territory. The suit, filed on Monday, June 30th, 2025, at the FCT High Court, marked CV/2484/25, comes after more than 90 days of an ongoing strike by primary school teachers and healthcare workers under the employ of the Area Councils.
