An 11-year-old boy who was pulled out of the icy water of a New Jersey lake reunited with the police officers who rescued him and thanked them for their heroic efforts.
Just days after 11-year-old Ben Santos fell through the ice at Franklin Lake in West Long Branch and was rescued by police, he and his father got to meet Officer David Brosonski and the other responding officers. Officials say Ben got in trouble on the ice after taking a shortcut home from school last Monday. Two days of warmer weather left the lake ice dangerously thin in spots.
