The Clark County School District’s human resources department reports 800 teacher openings as of July 22nd. Approximately 500 of those are being processed and are expected to be in the classroom by the first day of school on August 11th. That’s in comparison to 1,000 vacancies this same time last year, a 72% decrease. The hope is that this will be a big benefit to students. “What we saw is an increase in hiring during the 24-25 school year,” said Jason Ginoza, CCSD Assistant Human Resources Officer. “We hired over 450 more people, more teachers than we did in the “23-24.”
