One Ava, Mo., girl and her family have united communities across the Ozarks. Scarlett Hall, a ten-year-old student at Mansfield Elementary, was stuck underwater in a culvert earlier this summer in Douglas County. The Hall family has been in St. Louis at a children’s hospital for most of her treatments. Scarlett has made progress in the last few months, including being able to breathe on her own and recently sitting in a chair for the first time since the accident.
