Connecticut students improved test scores and attendance in 2025, but still below pre-COVID levels

Connecticut students demonstrated improved academic performance in English, math and science in 2025 for the first time in a decade, state Department of Education officials announced Thursday. As schools across the country strive to recover from the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, new statewide data released by the state Department of Education indicated Connecticut’s educational recovery efforts were working, education leaders said in a press conference and panel discussion.
