DfE Quietly Ditches Pledge to Publish Academy Scandal Investigations

The government is being accused of failing to keep its transparency promise after it quietly stopped publishing full investigation reports into academy trust scandals. Since 2012, 27 detailed reports were released under a pledge of transparency regarding public spending. However, last month, the Department for Education (DfE) published only a brief, three-page “outcome” report on an eight-year investigation into the Lilac Sky Schools Trust, instead of the usual full report of 10 to 30 pages.
