Killeen Independent School District (KISD) is making changes to next year’s school schedule to address ongoing bus delays and improve student punctuality. During Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, transportation officials outlined how these changes will streamline the district’s transportation system and better support students and families.
Dr. Don Rowls, executive director for Transportation Services, explained that the current tiered bell schedule creates tight time windows, leading to frequent delays. Adjusting the start and end times for schools will help the district improve bus punctuality, ensuring that students arrive on time, ready to learn and that families have a more consistent routine.
