Dear parents, your approach to college financing is certainly strict, but it’s also overly rigid. While setting academic and behavioral expectations is important, tying financial support exclusively to grades risks incentivizing your children to take the easiest academic paths rather than pursuing meaningful and challenging subjects. Additionally, success in life isn’t solely determined by grades; valuable lessons can be learned from experiences that may not translate into high marks.
