Most provincial school systems in Canada claim to support “inclusive education” for children with learning challenges and complex special needs. This marks a significant shift from the former special education model, with many physically-challenged students now integrated into mainstream classrooms. However, achieving true inclusivity remains a challenge, particularly following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
